Saturday, 15 Oct. 2011.Me and group of 20 odd blogger escape temporarily from hectic city of KL to Pulau Ketam "Crab Island" which is a small island located off Port Klang, Selangor,Malaysia thanks to Tourism Selangor which is organizing the #TSDayOut to explore part of Selangor thru Social Media and at same time I am able to meet some of my friend from MSS Selangor 2010 and blogging community.
Founded circa 1880. Its a fishing village inhabited by Malaysian Chinese and yet at same time a tourist attraction for both domestic or foreign tourist alike. To reach Pulau Ketam, U must take the ferry/speed boat (Rm7 for the ticket) from Jetty at Port Klang (accessible from KTM Port Klang) ETA 40 minutes . Arriving at Pulau Ketam Jetty, the floating house perching casually on long wooden stilts and suspended merely about one to ten (1-10) metre above the sea level was a breathtaking view . We quickly ushered to community hall for simple briefing before starting exploring the island on small group by walking or rented bicycle which is the island main and only means of transport. Despite it size, Pulau Ketam has own school, clinic, police station, community hall, volunteer fire station, electric generator plus Motel, shop and restaurant to cater to tourist beside the thriving fishing community dotted by boat and supporting industry.
Thanks to Tourism Selangor for organizing #TSDAYOUT outing, me and group of nearly 20 blogger are able to explore Pulau Ketam on foot, bike and able take photo using our DLSR, Digital Camera and of course, my La Sardina Camera!
